EmmaLynn's Birthday Party plans

So EmmaLynn's birthday is still over 2 months away, as you all know, but I have already started thinking about it. She's is going to have two parties one in TN with family and one in KY so that her friends from church will be able to come. The party in TN is the much bigger one and will probably be held at the party barn that my sister's family owns. The KY one will probably be at mill street park because it touches my mom's work and we could use her office for the party part, if Burt doesn't mind, and then let the kids play at the park. Both of these cases saves me a lot of money because I won't have to pay for accommodations. So that only leaves decorations, food, party supplies, and presents.

EmmaLynn's new favorite thing is Dora the Explorer, so we've decided to go with that as the theme, all though we can't afford to go all out. Dora party stuff can get pretty expensive pretty quick but I figure if we just get a few big Dora things and put them in the right places, and then fill in with purple, yellow, and pink, (Dora colors) it will still look like we went all out. I will of course get Emmie an outfit that goes with the theme, (picture of possibility below) because we lucked into one last year so it's kind of a tradition and it makes for cute pictures.

I also think I will do cup cakes because they have cute Dora cupcake cups and toppers and it will save us money which is always good.

Bowling with EmmaLynn

Dorsey and I took EmmaLynn bowling tonight it was so much fun. I had no idea that some bowling alley's had ramps so that little children could bowl. Mom had noticed it when she was at a work party in Lexington. Apparently EmmaLynn's friend Joleigh was using one.

Granny Morrison's Obituary

THE END OF A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE

Ruth Blaine Brown Morrison, the widow of Dorsey Raymond Morrison and a resident of Beattyville, KY; was born in Morgan County, Kentucky, to Luther and Barbara Taulbee Brown, on January 27, 1915.
She became a “Born Again” and “Holy Spirit Filled Christian” in 1930 at the age of fifteen years; and served God faithfully the rest of her life. She was a wife, a stay at home mother that worked 24/7 and was always there for her family and anyone else that needed her. During her life she taught Sunday School classes, was a Special Lay Speaker most of her adult life. In her later years she was well known in Lee & Owsley Counties for making candy, and selling it for the Lord’s work. However, the thing she was best known for was her love, faith and prayers.
Those of us she has temporarily left behind; not to MOURN her, but to JOIN her, are; sons Charles Gordon Morrison of Erwin, TN, Donald Ray Morrison of Jonesborough, TN, Timothy Keith Morrison of Beattyville, KY. and a daughter Patricia Morrison Haymaker of Beattyville, KY. From six children, she was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 52 Great grandchildren and 7 Great-Great grandchildren. She also leaves her only sister, Joyce Brown Dillon of Middletown, OH, and many more family and friends.
She leaves a great void in many
lives, and will be greatly missed
by all who knew her.
Ruth Blaine Morrison went home to be with her Lord on January 5, 2010 at her home.
She died as she had lived as in 2Ti 4:7,8, 9
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have
kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.
Ruth had begun a project for the enrichment, inspiration, enlightenment and spiritual teaching in her church; and would have wished that in lieu of flowers, that you please send donations to the Ruth Morrison Memorial; payable to Pastor Ellis Kendall, c/o Ruth Morrison Memorial, 159 Beartrack Rd., Beattyville, KY. 41311.
Viewing will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home, Rte 11 South in Owsley Co. KY. from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2010, followed by the funeral and interment services beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
There will be no graveside services due to the weather.

Virus 2010

So Thursday night Dorsey was really sick at work but no one would come in to cover his shift. Friday morning I inded up taking him to the emergency room b/c it was new years so our Dr.'s office was closed. He was dehydrated so he had to have an IV which he hates and then he got two shots, and two Rxs. He came home slept 16 hours and by Sunday was ready to go back to work. Unfortunetly sat night EmmaLynn had woken up vomitting and all sunday she was sick and by Monday I had the virus full force. It has not been a very good way to start the new year.

EmmaLynn's new bedroom

Well I have officially lost the "No Character Bedding" argument. (I didn't want to use Dora in case EmmaLynn changed her mind and Dorsey thought we should because it would make her happy.)

So EmmaLynn now has a Dora and Boots bedding set and although it isn't what I wanted I will admit it is kinda cute. However the problem is that I'm now going to have to find a way to decorate her room (curtains, pictures, rug, etc..)because the set only came with bedding and nothing else. I think I'm just going to have to pick colors out of the comforter and find fabric to match it.

All complaining aside EmmaLynn does like the bedding. She points to each little Dora and Boots on the sheets and proudly tells me who they are, and she hugs the pillow which is basically a big Dora face. So, although I think we will probably get stuck redoing it sooner then if we had just gotten butterflies or flowers at least for now she is very happy with it.

Our 2nd Christmas as a full Family

This year was so much better than last, besides the obvious fact that no one pasted away we also tried spreading Christmas out this year over 2 1/2 weeks instead of two
days. So we spent Sunday the week before with my dad and that side, the next day with my grandfather, Christmas with my mom and the Smiddy's and finally Sunday of that week with Jossh, Ernie, Nannie and Jack.

It was less stressful and we were able to spend more time with each person. We stayed the night at dad's, didn't have to leave mom's without cleaning up and even got to stay and Jossh's. It was nice for Emmie to get to see as many people as possible. (Some of our family is just way to far away to visit. (CA, FL, WA, and of course where ever DB, Jeni, and EB are.)

I thought that everywhere we went was lots of fun. Dad and Joy got EmmaLynn a 4-wheeler which she loved, Papaw got to play "pop goes the teeth" (He has dentures)which is one of Emmie's favorite games. Carson and EmmaLynn got cameras and vacuum cleaners at Lala's, but most exciting for me was how much fun EmmaLynn had with Uncle Jossh. I didn't really expect him to be so playful with her. He got her a great Elmo toy but even better then that he played with her, rode in the back seat of the car with her, and even watched Dora episodes only slightly against his own will.

All together it was a great Christmas and I enjoyed it utterly too much.
